 Jez is a top man. Gave him my DIY tele for a full set up and shaping the headstock and he’s done a great job. Feels like a new guitar, great job with the frets and there no more fret buzzing at all. Adjusted the neck angle, action and set intonation. Fixed the electronics as well as the high E didn’t have a great output before. Great job 👌

 I first spoke to Jez when I came across his Web page on google. Initial chat over the phone went really well and it seemed no job was too big. The guitar I took to him to rebuild was a Fender USA Stratocaster, it was my first ever guitar and holds a huge sentimental value. I wanted it to be made into a ‘62 Relic and Jez absolutely nailed it. I went to visit him at his house, he was very welcoming and professional. We discussed what I wanted to do with it and Jez gave me all the options I ever could of wanted or even thought of. He sent me over a price and off he went. He sent me progress pictures at every opportunity, making sure I was happy with the work being done and that was exciting to see the build turning into the guitar I had in my head. From start to finish, Jez was the ultimate professional and I could tell that my guitar was in very safe and experienced hands. He loves his job as a luthier and that definitely comes across in his work. He used all genuine fender custom shop parts and also re-registered the guitar for me in the fender database including getting a custom shop backplate with the new serial number engraved into it. The attention to detail is honestly staggering It looks amazing, plays amazing and sounds amazing! Honestly, to say I’m over the moon with the custom guitar and service is a massive understatement! Not only did Jez do an unbelievable job with the custom rebuild, he also worked hard to surprise me and make sure the guitar was ready for my birthday. He surprised me the day before saying I could come and collect it on my birthday. Customer service at its finest! To anyone considering using Peterborough Guitar Tech for servicing, Repairs or to have a custom guitar PLEASE just book the work in and let Jez do the rest. You will definitely not be disappointed!!  I’m an absolute beginner, bought a martin smith guitar and couldn’t get on with it, my fingers were hurting so much I was ready to put it in the cupboard and give up.  I took my Epiphone Les Paul to Jez to troubleshoot severe feedback issues, which he discovered was due to poor earthing. He also fitted new SD P-Rail humbuckers and wired them up with cool tapping capabilities. He has also provided a light set up on new fender Strat lightly dressing the frets and adjusting the action for optimum playability. Both guitars sound and feel fantastic, I would highly recommend Jez’s services and will be sending more work his way in the near future.

 I bought my EKO Ranger 6 brand new in 1975 and have used it a lot over the past 45 years. However the years had taken their toll and it would no longer play. The neck was warped, most frets worn out, tail piece cracked, saddle fractured, scratch plate cracked and warped etc. Quite a sad state really. I started looking around for a new guitar but then heard of Jez. I was very reluctant to part with my old guitar, so I visited Jez for advice on the possibilty of making it playable again. Jez has completely refurbished my guitar, sourcing genuine replacement parts too. He has replaced all the frets, straighten the neck, set up the action to better than it was when new, replaced the bridge, saddle and scratch plate. All scratches and dings have been removed and the machine heads cleaned up. My guitar looks like new, sounds beautiful and so easy to play. All this at a fraction of the cost of a new guitar of this build quality. To say I am delighted is an understatement. Thank you so much. Jez is so helpful and welcoming too.  I found Jez's web site on a Google search after I had purchased a second user Martin Electro-Acoustic guitar, which although sounded really good had an action that was far too high and made playing difficult. Jez responded to my enquiry quickly and I left the Martin with him for a professional setup. This included lowering the action as much as possible (which needed a lot of time and patience on his behalf) and leveling/dressing the frets. To my surprise, Jez completed the work far quicker than expected and now using the guitar makes even me sound like a seasoned professional player! It will take some getting used to but it is now not just easy to play but a real joy to do so. Thanks for your hard work Jez, I thoroughly recommend your service to anyone that needs a professional luthier!

 My guitar stopped working through my amp thought I'd have to buy a new guitar then a friend recommended jez at guitar tech! He put my mind at ease squeezed me in to diagnose my guitar and 2 hours later I got my guitar back looking like new!  This was my first time using Jez and I was a bit nervous having never used a luthier in Peterborough before. My research paid off, Jez is phenomenal in his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He did an absolutely superb job on my Vintage icon Strat, it plays like a dream. There were quite a few problems with the neck so the guitar an an awful action and the nut had crumbled, but he meticulously resolved all of the issues and all for a very fair price quoted. He now has another of my guitars for the next job. I am very pleased I found him. It’s unusual to find someone so thorough and detail orientated at such very reasonable costs
